SAS4 weapons: practical picks, acquisition and upgrade priorities
Last checked 2026-10-29. Claims link the source that supports them.
Start with a weapon for crowds and a weapon for bosses, rather than a single universal “best gun.” The Steam description gives a loadout of one pistol and two rifle-class weapons, with more than 160 guns and armor pieces combined. That is publisher marketing, not a count of 160 distinct guns. This guide’s role-based shortlist draws on SAS 4 BIBLE and the separately authored Gun List, reviewed October 29, 2026.
A role-based priority list
| Priority / use | Weapon | Acquisition and upgrade direction |
|---|---|---|
| Early usable sidearm | HVM 001 | The wiki calls it a starter pistol; BIBLE recommends it early for its handling. Keep it as an early option rather than treating it as an end-game investment target. |
| Crowd-clearing candidate | CM 800 Jupiter | Standard, RED and BLACK variants appear in Gun List. Seek the corresponding strongboxes; invest when its crowd role fills a gap in your loadout. |
| Boss-focused candidate | Stripper | Gun List records it as a chemical shotgun with ordinary loot variants. BIBLE recommends it for bosses. Compare sustained damage and reload before spending rare upgrades. |
| Flexible longer-term candidate | 1887 Shockfield | Loot variants are listed in Gun List, which categorizes it as an energy shotgun. BIBLE treats Shockfield as a multi-role choice; prioritize a useful rolled copy rather than the name alone. |
| Another crowd-control option | CM Gigavolt | Loot variants; the wiki describes an arcing shock assault rifle. Consider crowd coverage before expecting it to replace a boss weapon. |
Role recommendations above are community opinions, not official tiers. Sources: BIBLE’s named weapon roles, Gun List’s categories and variants, HVM 001 and CM Gigavolt. The Gigavolt-specific role description has one wiki source. Different rolls, augments and enemy resistances can change the useful choice.
Where weapons come from
The publisher describes strongboxes found on enemies and in hidden rooms. The wiki Strongbox article identifies them as the source of non-premium, non-faction equipment, while Gun List distinguishes ordinary loot variants from premium and faction entries. A specific gun is a loot candidate, not a guaranteed reward from a named map. No unsupported drop percentages or guaranteed character-level thresholds are used here.
Faction equipment follows a separate shop route; see the historical faction schedule. Premium items use a paid route. The wiki Alloy article also describes crafting non-premium equipment, but that crafting scope is a single community-source claim.
What to upgrade first
Choose the role missing from your loadout, then improve a suitable copy. Damage and firing speed improve output; reload and capacity affect sustained fire; a health-return augment can serve a different purpose from pure boss damage. Compare those benefits before committing rare cores. This is an editorial spending framework; use the Gun List’s separate DPS, reload-adjusted and pierce-adjusted tables to understand why rankings change with assumptions.
Premium purchases are optional. The BIBLE’s premium section is an older author’s buying opinion, not a current pack-price list. The free shortlist above gives a useful route before considering a cash purchase.
The “electric sniper” is a naming mix-up
CM 800 Jupiter is a shock-damage sniper. Gun List labels both its weapon category and damage type. CM Gigavolt is a shock assault rifle, also documented in the wiki. “Electric sniper” is therefore best resolved by asking which gun is meant; it is not a separate item name in the reviewed catalog. Seek the appropriate standard, RED or BLACK strongbox route rather than a special unlock code.
The SAS3 weapon category lists Raging Bull .44 and Saiga .410K. Their SAS3 attribution is a single wiki source, not proof of a SAS4 revolver or .410 entry. See SAS3 if those are the weapons you remember.
Questions on this page
What is the best SAS4 weapon?
Match the job: the cited BIBLE recommends Jupiter for crowds, Stripper for bosses and Shockfield for multiple roles. Those are community choices, not a universal ranking.
How do I get the electric sniper?
CM 800 Jupiter is the shock sniper in the reviewed Gun List. Its loot variants use strongboxes; CM Gigavolt is an assault rifle, not a sniper.
Is Raging Bull in SAS4?
The linked community category places Raging Bull .44 in SAS3, alongside Saiga .410K. That attribution is a single wiki source.
